QDEG will be present in force at Yearly Meeting 2019, 24 to 27 May at Friends House.
Join us at 12:30 pm on Sunday for “Including everyone: disabled Friends speak out” in the George Fox Room.
Listen to our experience. Four Friends with a variety of disabilities will talk about how they are enabled to participate in the life of their Quaker meeting, and what barriers they experience to full involvement. There will be time for questions and discussion.
The George Fox Room is upstairs but there are lifts, including one suitable for wheelchairs. We will have speech-to-text software.
Again on Sunday, we will have a stall at the Groups Fair, from 6:15 pm onwards.
And, finally, our member, Shirley Torrens, will be speaking at one of the parallel sessions on Saturday at 2:15 pm. Details are still being worked out, but will be sent to all Friends registered for Yearly Meeting.
Yearly Meeting 2019’s focus on privilege and how that affects our ability to act on our urgent Quaker concerns, including inclusion and diversity, makes our contributions especially relevant.
